Agawan Hospitality Group’s long review by the town planning board seems to be coming to a close. The group’s extensive plans for a Glasco location include a 129-seat restaurant, 60 cabins, a large garden area for growing food for the restaurant, an artist’s studio and a horse-riding stable.
The public hearing on Tuesday, June 19, was the second on the proposed 82-acre Agawan resort off Glasco Turnpike near the Glasco firehouse. In addition to a 120-seat restaurant and 60 cabins, the facility would have garden areas for growing food for the restaurant, an artists’ studio and possibly a horseback riding stable. A substantial section of the property would be devoted to growing food for the farm-to-table restaurant.
Nearly 50 people turned out for a public hearing on a proposal to build a restaurant, an inn and cabins, along with horseriding facilities, hiking trails and an art gallery on Liberty Street behind the Glasco firehouse.
Planners expressed support for the project, but said they wanted to make sure it was done right.
The project is called the Wyldwyck River Camp, and it would be located on an 82-acre property abutting the Hudson River off Liberty St. behind the Glasco Firehouse.
