No one involved in Kingston Stockade FC seems eager to let go of the 2017 season. Stockade FC made its playoff debut Saturday, and it was a thriller which came with a side order of vengeance. Kingston outlasted Hartford City FC 2-1 in the National Premier Soccer League’s Atlantic White conference final in double-overtime on Saturday before a record-breaking crowd of 1,393 at Dietz Stadium.
Kingston will be at full strength to open the playoffs against Hartford City FC at Dietz Stadium.
In just its second season, Stockade FC have gone from a club of disparate but talented parts to a team in the truest sense, where opportunities are there for everyone to step up and make a difference.
A club-record 992 fans saw Kingston Stockade FC come out on top in a thrilling 2-1 top-of-the-table battle with Boston City FC on Saturday, a match which showed the home side playing from strength to strength throughout.
Most of the team’s best players from 2016 are still on the roster, and the new faces are making their mark too.
Kingston Stockade FC on Wednesday, Jan. 25 announced the hiring of David Lindholm as their new head coach. Lindholm, a coach at Bard College with a wealth of experience in American soccer, replaces former head coach George Vizvary, a local legend who guided the club through its inaugural season.
Even with the Hudson Valley feeling the icy grip of winter, Kingston Stockade FC is heading into 2017 with plenty of news and plenty of noise.
