Despite not having Saugerties Republican party endorsement, Ulster County Sheriff’s Captain Vincent Altieri won nomination for a town board seat, alongside GOP pick Donald Tucker, while turning back the party’s other choice, Joe Roberti Jr.

For supervisor, Neil Bettez had a decisive victory with 557 votes to Marty Irwin’s 203. Daniel Torres had the most votes in the town council race (612), followed by David Brownstein’s 587 and Jennifer Ippolito, who received 236.
Due to the filing of an Opportunity to Ballot by Michael Wendel, seeking a line on the ballot to challenge County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach, a Democrat, there will be a primary election in every election district in Ulster County on Tuesday, September 12. Wendell is seeking the Reform Party line. There are 11 citizens registered in the Reform Party in Ulster County. There will be no names listed on the ballot. Still, every town will open its voting booths.
