Ulster County legislator Kathy Nolan, who won the seat from six-year incumbent John Parete in 2017, will again face Parete in a Democratic primary on Tuesday, June 25, from noon to 9 p.m. They are seeking to represent District 22, which includes the towns of Shandaken, Olive, Denning, and Hardenburgh.
Woodstock Democratic voters will decide in the party primary June 25 which two of three candidates will run for election to the two available Town Board seats. Incumbent Reggie Earls and Planning Board member Conor Wenk are running together and incumbent Laura Ricci is seeking re-election.

A group that oversees the Comeau property is asking for help with trail maintenance that has not kept up with a significant increase in use and could lead to risk of injury. The last trail assessment was done in 2016, Comeau Stewardship Advisory Committee member Lisa Bonk told the Town Board at its regular meeting Jun 11.
According to the results of the survey devised by the Shandaken Short-Term Rental Committee, respondents are, as expected, divided on whether and how to regulate STRs in the town. In response to a growing outbreak of measles throughout New York City and the Lower Hudson Valley, which has recently expanded to include cases in Sullivan and Greene Counties, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan has directed Commissioner of Health Dr. Carol Smith to issue orders requiring measles vaccination or immunity for all campers and staff, except those with a valid medical exemption, who wish to attend or work at day or overnight camps in Ulster County.
