“Dan was just part of the fabric of what Saugerties is,” said Town Supervisor Fred Costello. “He used his position as a judge and attorney to help many families, many times in their darkest times of need, and it’s been very uplifting to hear how he touched so many members of our community. It’s unfortunate that we’re losing him so soon.”
Thanks to the volunteer labor of locals, Saugerties’ Community Access TV’s studio will be ready to go “full digital,” using new equipment that will be installed within the next two weeks.
The media system in the Frank Greco Memorial Senior Center is being revamped for the first time since the building’s construction in 1978.

Bowling is such a quintessential community activity that sociologist Robert Putnam titled his study of the decline of American civic life “Bowling Alone.” If bowling participation is an indicator of community health, Saugerties, which just added a school team due to overwhelming demand, is thriving.
The Great Christmas Light Fight choose a family from Houston over the Sussins of Saugerties, which some local views felt was unjust. But the Sussins harbor no ill will. ”Entering the show wasn’t about winning or losing,” says son Zach. “I got to show my display to the whole world.”
