The board voted to accept the supervisor’s request to hire Maureen TerBush Vickner to take over the part-time position of clerk to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.
Connecting the Hudson Valley Rail Trail with the rest of the county system will get closer to reality in 2018, with construction beginning on a phase to extend the trail. Starting in late 2018, Health Quest Medical Practice will open a multispecialty office on Route 299 between Highland and New Paltz. Construction began in late October on a facility where patients can see providers of primary care, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology and neurology. Patients will also be able to make follow-up appointments after surgery.
The village has some infrastructure projects ahead. Village Mayor Tim Rogers gets excited about infrastructure. He’s been known to wax enthusiastically about sewer digester covers to anyone willing to listen.
