File it under “one crime at a time:” New Paltz town police assisted State Police in capturing four of the suspects who took off after their vehicle was pulled over by State Police on the Thruway for speeding last week.

Last week, a rainbow crosswalk was painted at the intersection of Hasbrouck and Tricor Avenues, across from Village Hall and the Peace Park, to honor the groundbreaking same-sex weddings that had been officiated nearby 14 years previously. The Williams Lake Project, first proposed in 2007, is still in the early stages of construction. Locals weighed in on plans for the next steps, which include additional infrastructure and two “neighborhoods” of residential construction on the southern half of the parcel, called Point Comfort and Kiln Village.
The route linking the Hudson Valley Rail Trail to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail was unveiled earlier this month in New Paltz. The route will use newly constructed off-road walkways as well as existing roads. When complete next spring, bicyclists and pedestrians will be able to ride from the Walkway Over the Hudson to the village of New Paltz, and from there to Wallkill or Kingston.
