Residents of the New Paltz Central School District got their first look at the proposed 2018-19 school budget on March 21.
The SUNY New Paltz community and special guests gathered on March 15 for an open house and ribbon-cutting celebrating the $1.5 million expansion and full renovation of the Speech-Language and Hearing Center.
Beginning Monday, March 26, and continuing through September, extensive roadwork on South Putt Corners Rd. will cause traffic delays for students and staff making their way to and from New Paltz High School.
Spring is nearly upon us, and for the New Paltz High School Drama Club, that can only mean one thing: There’s “Magic to Do” – in the form of an exuberant stage musical, with a big cast brimming with youthful talent and plenty of support behind the scenes.
More than 200 New Paltz High School students participated in a tightly-controlled protest against easy access to guns on Wednesday, March 14, joining peers at thousands of schools across the country where some form of protest was expected to occur.
Some of the projects include new auditorium curtains, improvements to locker rooms and a basketball court, heating and lighting upgrades, and various other infrastructure improvements.
They carried signs asking “Am I next?” and “Are our lives worth your guns?”
The walkout will take place March 14 as part of a nationwide protest.
Much of the discussion at last week’s school board meeting centered around the committee’s makeup and how members would be selected.
