Dynasty? Is the word “dynasty” appropriate for the New Paltz SeaHawks, the summer DUSO (Dutchess Ulster Swim Organization) swimming program that has won 48-straight dual meets (that’s almost seven years undefeated) and six of the last seven DUSO Championships…last season by 280 points over second-place Red Hook. And this year doesn’t look to be any different.

New Paltz marks site of same-sex marriages with rainbow crosswalk

Last week, a rainbow crosswalk was painted at the intersection of Hasbrouck and Tricor Avenues, across from Village Hall and the Peace Park, to honor the groundbreaking same-sex weddings that had been officiated nearby 14 years previously. The crosswalk will also serve as the Finish Line for the Hudson Valley Pride March coming up this Sunday, June 3.

Historic house tour highlights Plattekill and its hamlets

Saturday, June 2: Tour-goers will visit simple farmsteads and houses from the Federal period, three-bay side-hall and five-bay center-hall structures. Seven of the town’s most interesting and unusual vernacular structures in a range of period styles dating to the 19th and 20th centuries will be featured, with the Greek Revival aesthetic and the diversity of its expression in the region a recurring theme.
