Congressman John Faso can’t attend a Kingston forum Monday evening to explain his vote on the controversial repeal-and-replace of Obamacare because of a conflict with a prior engagement? No problem. Neighboring Hudson Valley congressman Sean Patrick Maloney says he’ll be there tonight to explain Faso’s vote.
He comes off as a low-key, soft-spoken guy; but in the ComicCon world, he’s something of a legend.

The number of participants ranges from 80-100. Organizers estimate that about half of the supporters are from families affected by the disease.
Faso cited recent premium hikes on ACA exchanges, the fact that 1/3 of counties have only one insurer, high deductibles, in the lowest-priced ACA plans, taxes, among other reasons to replace Obamacare.

President Donald Trump has said that his America First policies can significantly — hugely! — increase the rate of growth of America’s gross domestic product. The average annual growth pf GDP over the past decade has hovered around two per cent. Trump is sure he can increase that to four percent. In fact, he recently told Fox News that with better trade deals the United States should be able to lift it to five per cent in a few years.

Signs of the graphic variety were much in evidence, displaying slogans ranging from Washington Post headlines and quotes from Teddy Roosevelt and the Lorax to puns, pleas, rhymes and artwork. Many referenced the Hudson River, and a few pop culture, such as “Climate change is the new Death Star” and “Every disaster movie starts with an ignored scientist.” Perhaps most poignant of all was a very small girl bearing a sign that simply said, “Earth Inheritor.”
