After years of renovation and construction, months of anticipation, and weeks of students getting acclimated to their new digs, the Kingston City School District held an official unveiling ceremony at Kingston High School last week, showing the public for the first time how much has changed.

The graduation rate at Kingston High School is up again — a modest jump of a little over a percent to 84.5, should the students in summer credit recovery courses complete their work as anticipated. School officials noted that the overall graduation rate for the Class of 2012 was just 72 percent.

The Kingston Catholic community has long been aware that St. Joseph School has been in the crosshairs of the Archdiocese of New York for several years now. They did not, however, expect to receive a notice two weeks before final exams that they would be closing the doors forever.
