Ulster County last week became the latest New York local government to raise the age of tobacco sales from 18 to 21. The move comes after a 19-3 vote by the Ulster County legislature. Police have yet to identify a 33-year-old man who died in an early morning fire in the Town of Ulster on Wednesday. According to Town of Ulster police, officers and firefighters responded to a call for a structure fire on Station Road around 5:11 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency personnel removed a 33-year-old man from the residence. He was transported to HealthAlliance Hospital’s Broadway campus, where he was pronounced dead.
