Saturday, Oct. 19: Guests can tour the CIA brewery with head brewer Hutch Kugeman, talk to local and regional brewers, taste their beers and learn what’s unique about their breweries, all while enjoying food for which the CIA is world-famous.
Saturday/Sunday, October 19/20: The third annual VegFest comes to BSP with cooking demonstrations, music, screenings, speakers and dozens of holistic vendors in the daytime and a concert of music, art and poetry by vegan artists, called Kingston Animalia, on Saturday evening.
Sunday, October 13: “Sustain Traditions” is the motto of the Ulster County Italian American Foundation, which hosts this festival of Italian cuisine, culture and music every year on the Kingston waterfront: a natural location for an Italian Festival, with over 150,000 Italian Americans in Ulster, Orange and Dutchess Counties.
That basic philosophy? It’s summed up in a slogan that seems to have stuck over time: “Make pierogi, not war.”
Saturday, Sept. 21: Beginning in the 1890s, Margaretville was the center of the nation’s cauliflower industry. The village’s farmers supplied New York City gourmets for 50 years, before California farms took over. Cauliflower remained a vital component of the Catskills economy for decades.
Sunday, Sept. 15: Ever go to an event at the Ulster County Fairgrounds and wonder how people can focus on the activities on offer while the gorgeous, profoundly distracting panorama of the Shawangunk cliffs beckons not far off to the west? Well, this year the Taste of New Paltz celebration will capitalize on its stunning setting by offering opportunities to take a ride in a helicopter above the Ridge. This isn’t the only new feature of the 29th annual Taste.
Saturday/Sunday, Sept. 7-8: Hundreds of New York wineries, cideries, distilleries, craft beers, food trucks and gourmet foods will be represented.
Friday-Sunday, Sept. 6-8: The event features live German bands, German food, home-baked desserts, traditional Reinheitsgebot beers, children’s entertainment, Bavarian dancers, Germania singers and Germania team soccer games.
Saturday, Aug. 17: It will be a day of family fun, relaxation, German food, music by the Joe Unger Band and dancing along the banks of the Hudson River.
