Citizen scientists of all ages (no special training or experience necessary) will be teamed with scientists and expert naturalists to study the wildlife, plants and biodiversity at the Catskill Center’s Thorn Preserve.
Sunday, June 16: Joyful Sounds for Erica, a free all-ages outdoor concert featuring many of Erica’s favorite local musician/friends, begins at 3 p.m. in Hasbrouck Park. Scheduled performers include Rhett Miller, Dean Jones and Dog on Fleas, John Burdick and friends, Rachel Loshak and Robert Burke Warren.
Thursday-Sunday, June 13-16: Warren Haynes is back on the scene, both as organizer and for two sets with the festival’s flagship band, Gov’t Mule. Willie Nelson & Family and Phil Lesh & Friends represent the old guard of progressive American musical movements, while relative youngsters like the Avett Brothers bring more reverence for tradition to their roots.
Saturday, June 15: Throughout the day, from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., 15 authors of recently published books that draw upon the Roosevelt Library archives or focus on the FDR era will present book talks followed by question-and-answer sessions and book-signings.

Friday-Sunday, May 31-June 2: The Country Living Fair brings the magazine’s content to life in three outdoor settings across the country. Each Fair features 200+ vendors from more than 30 states and is expected to draw more than 20,000 visitors.
With this year marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City, Pride Month will be an especially big deal. Hudson Valley Pride March in New Paltz on Sunday will be followed by Pride celebrations in Poughkeepsie and Hudson.
Friday, May 31: This new documentary – directed by award-winning filmmaker Barak Goodman, produced by Jamila Ephron and written by Goodman and Don Kleszy – promises 96 minutes of “that teeming mass of humanity, the rain-soaked, starving, tripping, half a-million-strong throng of young people [that] was nothing less than a miracle of unity.”
