It’s unfortunate to me that this group of people, many of whom I’m sure have the best interests at heart, have resorted to such outdated scare tactics and disproven language about marijuana legalization.

Two readers have different views of a proposal to regulate public art.
Tom Auringer writes to clarify what he says were inaccuracies in our article and in some of the comments at a recent meeting concerning a proposed manufacturing facility on Rt. 28 in the town of Kingston. In a separate letter, Maxanne Resnick, executive director of the Woodstock Land Conservancy, writes that the proposal should receive the highest level of scrutiny.

“Isn’t it fair and reasonable that the City of Kingston, with its burgeoning arts scene, now wants to create a policy for the future that is clear and fair to all who want to create public art in Kingston?” asks a reader.
“It is certainly within the city’s purview to regulate artwork installed on city property,” writes a reader. “But to create a further barrier to creation and expression on the facade of a privately owned business or home seems deeply misplaced to me.”
