Kingston mayor may drop plan to charge for lots
Kingston Mayor Steve Noble said Tuesday that the city will dramatically scale back a proposal to introduce paid parking kiosks in all city-owned lots. Woodstock law requiring all firearms to be locked away and secured draws standing-room-only crowd
“All firearms in the town of Woodstock, whether handguns or long rifles and shotguns and all air guns will be secured, unloaded in locked cabinets and/or protected with trigger locks whenever the firearm or air gun is out of the owner’s or custodian’s immediate possession or control,” the resolution states. Violating the law would be punishable by a $500 fine, 120 days in jail or both.

New Paltz supervisor: comment about removing “Independence Day” from town celebration was “tongue-in-cheek”
Responding to the concerns of New Paltz residents, Town Supervisor Neil Bettez said that his comment about removing references to Independence Day from this year’s town fireworks display — scheduled for Friday, June 30 — because it won’t even be held in the same month were “tongue-in-cheek.”
