Three teams representing the Saugerties High School robotics program traveled to Connecticut last weekend for the Vex Robotics Competition at Weston High School, a 63-team tournament where students from different schools may find themselves battling another team in one round and joining forces with them in the next.

The Saugerties Police Department was certified as an Opioid Prevention Provider last week through the New York State Department of Health. Now “Opioid Prevention Trainers” Officer David Stoutenburgh and Chief Joe Sinagra can teach interested parties how to administer Narcan, the only FDA-approved nasal form of naloxone for the treatment of an opioid overdose.

Kingston mayor’s restructuring plan puts wife in line for new job, big raise

Mayor Steve Noble is seeking the Common Council’s support for a plan that would fold the city’s Parks and Recreation Department into the Department of Public Works. Noble’s proposal also calls for the appointment of his wife, Julie Noble, and his former confidential secretary, Lynsey Timbrouck, to senior positions in the department. The merger proposal comes as longtime Parks and Rec chief Kevin Gilfeather gets set to retire in April.
