Local social-service agencies involved in services for the homeless numbers say the numbers rose this past winter compared to the previous year. They don’t expect increased funding or services from the federal government.

Saugerties school officials praise changes to state tests
Perhaps the most significant change is the reduction of testing days for each exam from three to two. Other changes include shorter, untimed tests, giving students a greater chance at success without worrying about the clock ticking on the wall.
