Why would a group want to organize such a hunt? Because coyotes are held in very low-esteem by pretty much everyone, aren’t native to the northeast and their numbers seem to be increasing. White-tailed deer hunters hate them because they prey on fawns, and reports of coyotes attacking and killing pets have been on the rise in recent years.

Westchester District postal officials are announcing Post Offices throughout the Greater Hudson Valley will be open on Tuesday, December 24 – Christmas Eve, but closing earlier than the normal weekday hours. The December 24 adjusted hours, which are based on local conditions, are posted in the Post Office lobbies.

New Paltz man’s Jeopardy run comes to an end

In the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions, as in Highlander, there can be only one. Francois Barcomb, a New Paltz resident and physics teacher at Hendrick Hudson High School in Westchester County, made it all the way to the finals before falling to one of the all-time greats, James Holzhauer, who has won more than $2.7 million on the show.
