Built circa 1875, the warehouses are a reminder of an era in which Saugerties played an integral role in the industrialization of the Hudson Valley. This morning at 9:31 a.m., Saugerties Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on John Joy Rd. Police said a 2009 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with a trailer attached driven by a 65-year-old Saugerties man was traveling south when the truck veered across the northbound lane onto the shoulder, striking a tree before going over and down the embankment.
The rail trail bridge spanning the Wallkill near Springtown Road in New Paltz has been closed since July. A new causeway was delivered last week.
