Ulster County seniors are warned of phony “emergency” calls asking grandparents to wire money to help a grandchild who is “in trouble.” According to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Division of Consumer Affairs, there are several warning signs of the grandparent scam.

Recommendations for future flood resilience include relocating the town hall complex out of the flood zone; enlarging two bridges on Fox Hollow Road only if damaged or scheduled for replacement; monitoring the stream bottom at a bridge on Creekside Road and cautiously removing sediment if warranted; elevation of homes or electrical structures within buildings in the flood zone.
Construction underway on $8m medical facility in Lloyd
Starting in late 2018, Health Quest Medical Practice will open a multispecialty office on Route 299 between Highland and New Paltz. Construction began in late October on a facility where patients can see providers of primary care, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology and neurology. Patients will also be able to make follow-up appointments after surgery.
