After six months of work by project engineers J. H. Maloy, Inc. of Albany and geotechnical consultants Hayward Baker, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has determined that the first phase of the Rosendale Floodwall project has been completed and that the wall is now “stabilized.”

Ten days after the long-planned merger of Kingston’s Citibus system with Ulster County Area Transit, county officials say ridership is up so far. But some users of the newly unified bus systems say the service changes have left them high and dry.

MAT programs, which include the use of opioid substitutes like methadone and Suboxone have been proven effective in reducing deaths from opioid overdose and reducing addicts’ dependence on street drugs. But, until recently, corrections officials have almost universally resisted their introduction into jails and prisons.
With this move, the county anticipates the statewide act, scheduled for 2020 enforcement, with which New York will join only two other US states to date (California, of course, but also Hawaii) and 30 nations, from France to Madagascar.
