Ex-legislator pleads not guilty on trespassing charge
Ex-county legislator Chris Allen, in Saugerties Village Court Monday night, pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass stemming from an October incident where he allegedly got into a shouting match with resident Paul Fowler and refused to leave Fowler’s domicile.

Hudson Valley man and police exchange fire; dog killed
According to police, a Hudson Valley man fired on officers responding to a property dispute. Officers then returned fire. The man’s dog was killed in the exchange, but neither the man nor officers were injured, and the man was eventually captured after fleeing on foot and charged with attempted murder.
