The goal of the camp is not to have a three-day, heavy-hearted crying session. Quite the opposite. It is about making friends, contacts, helping kids build resources within themselves, and fun.
Several times a year, extra water is released into the Esopus Creek, causing it to move much faster— fun for experienced kayakers and tubers, but potentially deadly for the inexperienced. Remaining 2017 releases will take place July 15-16, September 2-4, and October 7-8.
