The operation started as a pop-up, appearing only at festivals, events, and farmer’s markets and the bakery quickly gained a strong following.

Woodstock suspense writer Alison Gaylin wins Edgar award
Gaylin won an Edgar Allan Poe Award from Mystery Writers of America (MWA) for her novel If I Die Tonight (HarperCollins, 2018). Popularly known as “the Edgars,” the awards are given annually in a number of categories.
What’s happening at Woodstock’s art galleries
While we all wait to see the hundred objects chosen to capture the first hundred years of the Woodstock Artist’s Association & Museum’s role as a stalwart of the town’s cultural tides, we might as well consider what’s being planned for the WAAM galleries’ other spaces starting this Saturday, with a reception planned for 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

Fairytale Theater coming to Woodstock
Woodstock area children and teens will get a chance to put on a musical play this summer, as Edie’s Fairytale Theater come to the Byrdcliffe Barn from June 24 to 28 to mount a production of their original adaptation of Peter Pan, for kids aged five to 16. The St. Louis-based company will be brought to town by Kerry Henderson and Bex Roper-Caldbeck, organizers of the Woodstock Festival of Song, which will hold two concerts at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church on Mother’s Day weekend, May 11 and 12.

Fletcher’s auction has surprises, beauty and toughness

A fortnight after Jim Cox’s successful Collector’s Exchange auction, noted gallerist Tom Fletcher, who’s spent a lifetime selling culture in first the book industry and now classic Woodstock art for nearly 30 years, will be hosting one of his grand fine art auctions on Saturday, May 11 starting at 2 p.m. at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center on Rock City Road.
