The Weir, to be presented by Performing Arts of Woodstock (PAW) from May 30 through June 23 at Woodstock’s Mescal Hornbeck Community Center, takes its title from the word for a small dam constructed to divert the flow of water, symbolizing what happens in the play. Written by Conor McPherson and directed by Warren Kelder, the drama is set in a rural pub in Ireland in the 1990s.
The Woodstock 50 Festival is a step closer to getting back millions of dollars that were swept from its bank account by the festival’s original financiers, Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi Live.

Friday-Sunday, May 24-26: Since Bard College acquired Montgomery Place in 2016, the former seat of one of the branches of the Livingston family has become the “salon” hosting public events. Famous names long associated with Montgomery Place include architect Alexander Jackson Davis and landscape designer Andrew Jackson Downing, but now visitors will have opportunities to learn about a lesser-known steward of this magnificent site overlooking the Hudson River, Alexander Gilson.
