Saturday-Sunday, September 8-9: New York wineries and gourmet specialty food producers are in the spotlight at this end-of-summer event, which started out years ago as a gathering of oenophiles and gradually expanded to include a New York Craft Beer Pavilion as well as distilleries and hard ciders.
Starting at noon on Saturday, Aug. 25, Kingston’s Ruby Mae’s Restaurant, one of the only eateries between Albany and Newburgh exclusively serving soul food standards, will commemorate its first year in business with an open-to-the-public block party.
Friday-Sunday, August 17-19: The Hudson Valley Ribfest is a qualifying event for the Empire State Barbecue Championship, and there will be 60 teams firing up their grills and smokers to prepare their cherished recipes.
The biggest barbecue gathering in this region happens every August at the Ulster County Fairgrounds, where the 14th annual Hudson Valley Ribfest will be held Friday through Sunday, August 17-19. The event goes on rain or shine, and parking is plentiful and free.
