Friday-Sunday, Mar. 29 -31: In addition to featuring more than 200 tattoo artists from around the country (bring your legal ID if you plan on getting some ink), the Fest features live music, food and drinks, tons of vendors, contests, prizes and ice skating.
Sunday, Mar. 31: The event will feature approximately 20 dealers with hundreds of thousands of antique postcards for sale, covering a wide range of subjects, including a focus on Hudson Valley communities and view cards.
Lacey Schwartz Delgado’s narrative runs squarely through Ulster County and along fault lines of race and community that have informed her work as a filmmaker and her interest in using the arts to make an impact on issues she cares about. Delgado tells her story in her 2014 film Little White Lie which aired on the PBS documentary film series “Independent Lens.”
The work needed on the 1910 deck plate girder pedestrian overpass that carries the rail trail over Forest Glen Road consists primarily of redecking. Rotted wooden decking, old railroad ties and fencing will be removed and replaced with more durable concrete decking and new safety railings. Trees that are pushing against the bridge abutments will be removed and trail erosion nearby the bridge repaired.
A 1985 graduate of Saugerties High School, John Gambino was a very good football player on some not very successful varsity football teams. Gambino, who will be inducted into the Saugerties Sports Hall of Fame next month, still played every down like it was the Super Bowl.
The four $5,000 donations will be put toward of the installation of lights on Thornton Field, one of two fields at the Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex that lack lights.
