Friday-Saturday, August 3 and 4: This year’s Poughkeepsie O+ places an emphasis on busker-style street performance, hip-hop, reggae/dub, indie-rock, folk/bluegrass, electronic and spoken-word. Notable performers this year include Lara Hope & the Ark-Tones (rockabilly), Bright Dog Red (improvisational) and JAHG (rap).

The driver of a flatbed truck failed to negotiate a curve on Rt. 212 late this morning, crashing into some nearby woods. No other vehicles were involved, but the driver is being treated for injuries.
New York State Police at Highland announced the arrest of Ryan B. Williams, 29, of Poughkeepsie, for the felony charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Egypt K. Holmes, who lives on Cornell St., was last seen yesterday afternoon at around 1 p.m. after a dispute with family members. According to police, Holmes has friends in/ties to Schenectady and Poughkeepsie and may be in one of those cities.
