Police investigate multiple stabbings in Napanoch

On Monday, Sept. 17 at approximately 5:25 p.m., members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at a residence on Jenny Brook Lane in Napanoch. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a large group of people arguing and three victims with injuries.

Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.”

“Players are not protesting the flag or the National Anthem,” writes a reader from Kingston. “If you would like the NFL to show respect for the flag, demand they take the flag off the uniforms, stop carrying the flag horizontally and, for goodness’ sake, get representations of the flag off of beer cans and cups at the stadiums. All of those things are against the U.S. Flag Code, but they happen every game day in the NFL.”

New Paltz rallies for green energy

Approximately 40 people took part in the “Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice” rally on Saturday, September 8 in New Paltz. It was part of a global day of action calling for an immediate end to dirty fossil fuel projects and for a fast and fair transition to 100% clean renewable energy that would create millions of new green jobs. People took to the streets at 1,000 events in 90 countries to demand bold local action to tackle the climate crisis.
