The Marbletown First Aid Unit public forum will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Rondout Valley High School Auditorium, 122 Kyserike Road, Accord. The forum will explain the shift from an all-volunteer unit to partly paid, partly volunteer staffing and the group’s request for funding from the Town of Marbletown, and towns of Rosendale and Rochester for the portions of those towns the state has assigned to the not-for-profit EMS-ambulance service.

Mystical Arts of Tibet, O+ style

Monks perform the sacred music of Tibet and create a sand mandala for the public at UPAC. In addition to the Sunday, October 13 performance, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day from Wednesday, October 9 through Saturday, October 12, the monks will create a sand mandala at UPAC. A translator will be on hand to answer questions, and the community will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the monks while enjoying the ephemeral artwork they are creating.

Mohonk Preserve Foothills Loop Trail opens

The Mohonk Preserve Foothills Loop Trail is now open, expanding the Mohonk Preserve Foothills trail network and extending the River-to-Ridge Trail in New Paltz. The 2.2-mile loop trail, which is free and open to the public, begins near the intersection of Pine and Butterville Roads, follows the newly established Ridgeview Road to Lenape Lane and continues around the White Oak Bend Path to Pine Road.
