The 5th Annual Taste of Woodstock, presented by the Woodstock Film Festival and the Hudson Valley Film Commission will celebrate the culinary diversity and delicacies that the region has to offer, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, throughout Woodstock.

Friday, May 26: Experimental musician and producer Matthew Cullen brings his unique electronic improvisation to the Hudson Valley with a live score to accompany the screening of the 1962 independent classic film.

The annual Saugerties Fish and Game Club’s fishing tournament at the Blue Mountain Reservoir is this Sunday, May 21. Registration starts at 8 a.m., fishing is from 9 a.m. to noon. This week the game club will be stocking the reservoir with 300 trout, according to Mike Hopf, the village of Saugerties water department superintendent.
The driver of the taxi that was hit by a CSX train in Saugerties on Feb. 16, killing a passenger, was arrested today and charged with the felony of failure to stop at a railroad crossing resulting in a fatal accident and the violation of failure to stop at a stop sign.
The victim and several witnesses were walking in the Southside Apartment parking lot when a vehicle approached quickly from the rear of the complex. The victim was struck by the front driver side area of the offending vehicle and knocked to the ground.
