Newburgh Illuminated Festival to feature five stages for music and dance

Saturday, June 1: The “Illuminated” part of the festival’s name references Newburgh’s status in history as the second municipality in the country wired for electricity. This will be the seventh iteration of an event that, in a relatively short time, has become a popular festival in the region, with at least 14,000 festivalgoers expected to attend.

Superintendent Thomas Bongiovi said that after receiving a complaint regarding an employee last week, “the district did a prompt and thorough investigation, and the employee ultimately resigned from the district.” He added that the New York State Department of Education was also notified.
