It may not look like much now, but the unassuming yellow building along the driveway into the village of Saugerties parking lot off Partition Street is the new home of the Saugerties Chamber of Commerce.
The Mid-Hudson Athletic League recently honored Saugerties seniors Michelle Melville and James Ball, along with more than 30 other students, as not only outstanding athletes but also excellent in academics.

The basketball courts at Mount Marion park and the Lions Club park are in line for attention, with funding coming through donations.
Enrollment is less than ¼ of what it once was, but talk of ending the Saugerties Council of Church’s Vacation Bible School might be premature, say a number of council members.
“I was just keeping my promise to the boys’ baseball team,” the mayor said of the “Home of the Sawyers” sign that now graces the bridge.
A foreign exchange student who named himself after a childhood TV character said farewell on the last day of school at Saugerties High School. One student reported that many of the students were crying, as were some teachers and staff.
State officials are not sure when a leak of what is currently being called a “petroleum product” occurred.
