The Planning Board approved projects on Old Kings Highway and Lauren Tice Road. The first would power approximately 75 homes; the second, 240 homes.

Saugerties village considers zoning change to allow new townhouses
The proposed zoning change on Teetsel Street to allow for twelve townhouse units. Current zoning allows for single-family and two-family homes, but not for attached townhouses.
Saugerties considers mechanized trimmer to tackle Esopus-choking water chestnuts
Water chestnuts, a local species unrelated to the oriental delicacy, have been overwhelming a large section of the Esopus Creek, especially the area where the creek widens opposite the village beach. The green mass covers a wide swath of the creek, making boating and swimming in those areas impossible. Much of the weed cover is near Esopus Bend Nature Preserve.

Saugerties resort with cabins and restaurant approved
The resort, which will be called Wyldwyck River Camp, includes a 120-seat restaurant, 72 rooms in multiple cabins, agricultural fields, staff housing, artists’ studios and stables for horse-riding on the property, as well as utilities and service areas. It’s located off Liberty St. behind the Glasco Firehouse, abutting the Hudson River. Developers plan to start construction as soon as possible.
Saugerties village considers becoming a “Climate Smart Community”
The Climate Smart Communities program consists of a network of New York communities engaged in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving climate resilience. The program provides guidance to local governments on best practices for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
