Grace Gavis, the junior breakout star of Kingston High’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team, was recently named a U.S. Lacrosse All-American for 2017 in a season where she amassed 58 goals — including the 100th of her high school career — and 21 assists.
Each school year, a member of the student council is selected to serve as the student representative to the school board. Dhandi, treasurer of the Class of 2017, said she enjoyed serving in the role, which served as a liaison between the student body and the school district.
Stockade FC made its playoff debut Saturday, and it was a thriller which came with a side order of vengeance. Kingston outlasted Hartford City FC 2-1 in the National Premier Soccer League’s Atlantic White conference final in double-overtime on Saturday before a record-breaking crowd of 1,393 at Dietz Stadium.
Kingston will be at full strength to open the playoffs against Hartford City FC at Dietz Stadium.
In just its second season, Stockade FC have gone from a club of disparate but talented parts to a team in the truest sense, where opportunities are there for everyone to step up and make a difference.
With three games to go in its sophomore season, Kingston could win its division.
