Christine (Chrissy) Anderson

Christine Rose Anderson died on January 25 2020 at her home with her many loved ones by her side.

Christine, or Chrissy, as she was known by close friends, was born on Christmas day, 1949, in Kingston Hospital, and was appropriately named Christine Rose…

She was the daughter of Gordon Anderson, former owner of Anderson’s Hardware in Woodstock and her mother Virginia (Ginger) Anderson who had a successful real estate business with her husband Chris Morris.

Chrissy was a gentle and caring person, loved by many as was exhibited by the outpouring of visitors, cards, flowers and thoughtful messages that came to her throughout her illness.

Chrissy obtained a degree in psychology from New Paltz College and received a degree in massage therapy in Gainesville Florida. She was a successful massage therapist whose gentle touch and caring words helped so many.

She also had a part-time job at Victoria’s Secret for many years and was greatly admired by the entire staff.

Chrissy’s greatest love was to be walking or hiking. She had a special fondness for the reservoir and would go there many mornings before starting her day.

Her busy day included, along with her own clients, working for the town of Woodstock, helping seniors through exercise and yoga to remain as young and vibrant as she was herself.

Chrissy was predeceased by her parents and her younger brother Peter Anderson in January 1989.

She is survived by her dearest cousin Virginia (Ginger) Hadley of Cazadero, California, stepbrothers Steven Morris of Virginia and Tony Morris of California. And her close friends Jim and Jimmy Whelan and many others.

We all miss her gentle ways and kindness to others.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held locally on the weekend of May 16 so that we might all come together to show our love for dear friend Chrissy.
