The annual New Paltz Memorial Day parade and services will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. The line of march will begin at the New Paltz Middle School and end with memorial services in front of the veteran’s memorial at the New Paltz Fire Station, including a guest speaker and a salute to deceased veterans, fired by the VFW rifle squad.
All civic and fraternal organizations, which normally participate in the parade and services, are again invited to join with the VFW in observing this meaningful day.

Why Wednesday? New Paltz has lost its common sense. Its like they don’t care about our fallen vets. Its Memorial DAY. The last Monday of May. You want to commemorate our heros? Do it on the RIGHT day.
So disrespectful to have the parade NOT on Memorial Day. Whoever voted for these officials should take a long hard look in the mirror.
The parade was organized by the VFW, not elected officials.
“observing this meaningful day” at a later day just doesn’t make sense.
‘The holiday was held on May 30 from 1868 to 1970’
They wish to observe the original holiday date
Its 2018, not 1868-1970. The federal holiday is the last Monday of May
the Feds have been wrong before…celebrate the day you want, let them celebrate the day they want…this is still America (today)
