Forty-three students from PS 244 in Queens, along with their teachers, parents and Principal Robert Groff visited the Catskill Animal Sanctuary recently to meet new farm animal friends and learn about the importance of a plant-based diet. The school is the nation’s first with a vegetarian diet. The day included lots of hugs for pigs, sloppy cow kisses and ended with delicious treats from CAS vegan chef Linda Soper Kolton.
