Sing along with Handel’s Messiah in Poughkeepsie & Hudson

The Bardavon 1869 Opera House continues to host the Hudson Valley Philharmonic (HVP)’s 57th season on Sunday, December 18 at 2 p.m. with a holiday performance of Handel’s Messiah with guest conductor Christine Howlett. Guest vocalists from Howlett’s Cappella Festiva will join the HVP to perform Handel’s most popular choral work. There will be 100 instrumentalists and singers on the Bardavon stage, and audience members will be invited to sing along. A preconcert talk with Maestro Howlett and members of the orchestra will take place one hour before the concert for all ticketholders.

Prices for Handel’s Messiah are $26, $36 and $51, depending on location. Student Rush tickets will be available for $20 one hour prior to the concert. Utilizing the space at the Christ Episcopal Church, the Hudson Opera House presents a traditional singalong of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, December 17 at 4 p.m. Conducted by Gwen Gould and supported by a string ensemble and vocal soloists, audience members can join in singing in this rite of the holiday season. Scores will be provided. The suggested donation is $15.
