Medicine of the 1700s presentation (bring your own leeches)

Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack announced last week that on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Revolutionary War medical re-enactor Don Terpening will return to the Matthewis Persen House Museum located at 74 John St. in Uptown Kingston, at the corner of John and Crown streets. Admission is free and all are welcome.

A professor emeritus of biology, Terpening will present various medicines, implements, and techniques that were used by physicians during the Revolutionary War, as well as discuss the role that doctors played and their social standing during this period.
