Several local organizations are planning marches and rallies on Saturday, June 30 in protest of the separation of children from parents charged with entering the country illegally.

  • The Kingston event starts at 1 p.m. with a rally at City Hall, 420 Broadway, followed by a march to George Washington Elementary School, 70 Wall St., where there will be activities for children as well further speakers from local immigrant, faith, and activist communities. The band Tin Horn Uprising will accompany the march. According to organizers, Saturday’s march “also highlights concerns of the local immigrant community: the establishment of community IDs and the Greenlight campaign to make drivers’ licenses available to undocumented drivers, thereby increasing road safety for everyone.”
  • A sister march organized by Women’s March Woodstock will take place in Woodstock from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It starts at Andy Lee Field on Rock City Rd. and ends on the Comeau property, where there will be speakers and music.
  • A New Paltz event will begin at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Elting Library on Main St.
  • A Rhinebeck event will begin at noon at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah,  6436 Montgomery St.
  • A Beacon event will begin at 2 p.m. at Polhill Park.

So what should we do, keep their parents with them in jail? Every time an adult is charged with a crime and detained the children go some place else. When it happens in one’s own community there’s usually family but that’s not the case when you’re trying to sneak into a foreign country. Please provide another way to lawfully deal with this, don’t just criticize.

Their parents did not necessarily commit a crime. THEY ARE SEEKING ASYLUM, do you know or care what the difference is? We have laws that ALLOW PEOPLE TO SEEK ASYLUM. Comrade traitor trump tries to make people like you believe they are all criminals. Prey you do not one day find yourself in need of SEEKING ASYLUM only to find a lying traitor of a president like ours then try to separate you from your child.

Send them back to their country. They then can go to the US Embassy located in their country and apply for immigration.

Trump not setting up migrant camps in USA

God Bless President Trump, Making America Great Again.

Illegial immigrants should be sent to a labor work camp and slaved.

It’s hard not to view these protests as virtue signaling when the law has been in place since 2014 and when 0% of these protesters have made any room in their homes for the “refugees.”
