Seven-month-old seriously injured in Olive; father arrested for assault

New York State Police at Kingston arrested Ernest G Williams III, 19, of the Town of Olive for second-degree assault on May 2.
On May 1, State Police and EMS, Olive First Aid and Mobile Life, responded to a 911 call placed by Williams reporting his seven-month-old child semi-conscious at their residence in the Town of Olive.
The child, who was in the care of Williams, was transported by ambulance to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston and later flown to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition where he underwent surgery for injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.  Williams was arraigned in the Town of Olive Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.

It is time for enforced sterilization of convicted abusers. Even if not abusers, the serial impregnators know no bounds, nor responsibilities.

Wrong. It is time for severe consequences for adult men and women who assault, molest, murder children and babies. The horror of child abuse is not only increasing in the US, it is being pushed aside, in order for random adults to speak of their desire to control the sexuality and reproduction of other adults. The damage suffered by babies and children is not even considered by adults who seem not to understand that the victims are ruined for life. The previous commenter does not seem at all concerned with saving and healing of children, but rather vengeance concerning another citizen’s ability to engage in coition. “Jane’s” second sentence places all of of the onus of copulation upon the male partner. What of the children? The results of the abuse: physical, psychological, sexual are dire. Little children’s lives are being destroyed. We need to intervene. Forced sterilisation is concomitant with Soviet and Nazi eugenics.
