Santana to perform at Bethel Woods

A rock ‘n’ roll legend and shatterer of musical boundaries, Carlos Santana’s late-career renaissance rolls on. The unmistakably distinctive guitarist presided over the original fusion of Latin music and rock, scoring an impressive string of radio hits in the process. His exhilarating shows have been the stuff of legend from the time of Woodstock on.

Santana returns to the site of one of his most historic performances – the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts – on Saturday, August 5 at 8 p.m. Reserved seats range in price from $85.50 to $136.50; Lawn access costs $40. For more information, visit www.bethelwoodscenter.org. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is located at 200 Hurd Road in Bethel.

Attended the show and music was good. Much enthusiasm and energy displayed by the performers. However didn’t care about hearing Carlos Santana politics. He said at first to park religion and politics at the gate. That was all right. But later he talked about the current president and how he was the same guy with different face referring to past presidents like Bush etc. Obviously he meant leave political positions other than his own outside the gate. This was a concert not CSPAN. He also said that that patriotism was prehistoric. That was an insult to every service member past or present. He should be thankful to more than a few patriots that he has has the freedom to play his music and make the millions of dollars he has. I don’t know what world he’s in but it certainly isn’t mine. I will consider carefully whether or not to attend any of his shows in the future. Same philosophy goes for any performer. Doesn’t matter who it is. I paid my money to hear them perform. In terms of politics and so forth please leave it outside and don’t bring it into the venue. That’s not what I I paid for.
