New Paltz pool passes available at public library

As part of their use agreement with the Town of New Paltz, the New Paltz Seahawks have provided summer pool passes for New Paltz residents. There are four passes available at Elting Memorial Library in New Paltz each day, which can be checked out using an Elting Memorial Library card, issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each pass is a “family pass” which provides for five members of the same household. Otherwise, day rates for admission apply. The passes may be checked out up to one day in advance. (For example: you can come in to the library on Thursday and get a pass for Thursday or Friday, but not Saturday.)

Passes may be checked out by the same household once a week. Any use beyond once a week is limited to after 5 p.m. on the same day, if passes are available. (For example: if you have already used a pass on Tuesday, you can come in on Saturday after 5 p.m. and get a pass if there are any left. You cannot check out a pass on Saturday at 11 a.m.) Passes will not be reserved over the phone.

Supervisor Neil Bettez stated, “This one small step we’re happy to be able to take in order to make the pool more accessible to residents regardless of income, and we’re very grateful to the Seahawks for their generous donation.”

Any questions can be directed to the town supervisor’s office at (845) 255-0604,  extension 126.
