The Hudson Valley Vegans will host a fundraising brunch to benefit Saugerties Animal Shelter on Saturday, April 29 from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Saugerties Reformed Church, 173 Main St. The menu will feature burritos, nachos, smoothies, vegan chorizo, baked goods and more, all priced under $10. All proceeds will benefit the Town of Saugerties Animal Shelter, which also serves the communities of Woodstock and Ulster. The nonprofit Hudson Valley Vegans are dedicated to introducing and providing information on a plant-based diet and compassionate lifestyle. The facility is handicapped-accessible and everyone is welcome. Donations for the shelter will also be collected at the brunch. Chef Drake Page, chef and co-chair of the event along with DeAne Vasquez, says that the brunch menu will challenge any misperception that vegan food is “all about sprouts, lettuce and carrot sticks.”
I just saw this post. I love that you chose my cat Luke for your print portion of the Vegan Brunch to support the Saugerties Animal Shelter. Is was quite a surprise what I saw it. We indeed adopted him and his sister from there. Their original names were Kit and Kabooble. We changed them to Luke Leia.
Thanks
Laura
