UlsterCorps Zombie Escape
Dodge the zombies and other spooky surprises hiding in the woods, tunnels and caves at Williams Lake in Rosendale this Saturday, October 29 at the seventh annual UlsterCorps Zombie Escape. Options for the day include a free 1K fun run for kids, a 5K timed race and a 1K fitness walk with prizes for the top finishers. Runners for the Zombie Escape who successfully elude the zombie assault will win a “survivor” wristband.
Meet at Williams Lake, 434 Williams Lake Road off Binnewater Road in Rosendale. Registration opens at 10 a.m. with the kids fun run at 11 a.m. The timed 5K and Zombie Escape set out at 11:30 a.m. with the 1K fitness walk beginning at 11:45 p.m. Prizes awarded at 12:30 p.m.
Registration fee is $20 with preregistration by October 28 or $25 on day of. Proceeds benefit the non-profit UlsterCorps. Rain date is Sunday, October 30. More information is available at ulstercorps.org.
Rosendale Halloween party
A daytime Halloween event under the pavilion at the youth center in Rosendale. Snacks and games will be featured at the family-friendly community Halloween party this Saturday, October 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. Floating doughnuts, mystery boxes, pin-the-guts-on-the-skeleton, a dance party and other Halloween activities will accompany a costume contest and a haunted youth center.
