The New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce has appointed Kathy Combs as its new executive director. Combs assumed the position on February 2. “I am honored and excited to represent an agency that plays such a vital role in supporting and promoting the local economy,” said Combs. “I look forward to working with the Chamber’s board, staff and volunteers to enhance current programs and provide new and creative ways to benefit and stimulate the businesses of New Paltz.”

An Ulster County native, Combs has lived and worked in the New Paltz area for more than 20 years. She has extensive experience in the food and wine industry and was the owner of the 36 Main Restaurant & Wine Bar in New Paltz. Prior to opening 36 Main, Combs was a familiar face at the landmark P&G’s Restaurant where she served as the general manager for 15 years. She has most recently shared her restaurant and customer service expertise with Rocking Horse Ranch as the assistant food and beverage director.

Active in community service, Combs has chaired the Taste of New Paltz for three consecutive years, participated on the New Paltz Regatta planning committee and is a longtime member of the New Paltz Rotary Club.

The board is confident in her abilities, enthusiasm and vision for the continued support of our members and our community. We are confident that Kathy will be instrumental in continuing to make our Chamber a success and look forward to working with her.”

Combs replaces Peter Ingellis, who left his post at the Chamber on December 12, 2014 to take a position with a New York-based manufacturing company.
