Mohonk Preserve wants to make Ulster County a little healthier. They’re aiming to do so by getting people out of their seats and onto the hiking trails. Anyone with a proof of residency in Ulster County can sign up for one month’s free access to the sprawling nature preserve.
Pick up your free pass today by heading to the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center from now until May 10. They’re open 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Free month passes are also available at the Spring Farm Trailhead May 10-11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bust out that driver’s license, signed apartment lease or other proof of residency, head out to Mohonk and pick up your pass. It’s as simple as that. Just make sure to do it in person. Parents, however, can pick up a pass for their kids if they are minors.
Free passes are good until June 9, 2014.
The program is part of the Healthy Ulster Spring initiative. Learn more about Mohonk Preserve at https://www.mohonkpreserve.org.
Would have been nice to see this before the 9th!!! No way to get there by tomorrow!!
I work in ulster county, does that count!?
Used to live in High Falls. My horse and I and friends used to ride the trails weekends.. Used to explore a lot. Used to chat with the owner.. Occasionally participated in trail rides which included lunch in a downstairs room.. Sort of sad and constricting to think now I would need a pass which was only free on a special occasion.. And only if I still lived there.. Younger brothers worked there.. Nice looking for a job but no answer yet.. Dad probably tuned the pianos.. Sigh.. I’m getting so much older now.. I miss Mohonk so much!
Niece, I meant
I live in Delaware cty., close to Ulster Cty border. I like to hike and would love 2 free passes for a month. I know the passes are only for Ulster County residents but an exception would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dianne
