An unfinished addition on the former Dragon Inn collapsed under the weight of snow and ice last week. The original building, closed since the early ’90s, is the subject of preservationist efforts. Fans of Clovelea, the Queen Anne-style mansion crafted by architect Alfred H. Thorp for Saugerties industrialist W.R. Sheffield, generally favor removing the addition entirely and restoring the original 1883 structure.
